Thematic sections

The Conference seeks to include any issue related to the introduction, implementation, evaluation and promotion of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals in Education. It focuses in particular on the following nine themes/strands of the Scientific Conference :

  • Learning and teaching (modern and innovative pedagogical and learning approaches, such as problem-based and project-based learning, experiential learning, interdisciplinary and intersectional learning, technology-based learning, differentiation and inclusion.
  • Teacher education and training (cultivating and enhancing teachers' knowledge, skills and competences to support the implementation of the SDS in education)
    Educational inclusion and equity (inclusive education, ways and strategies to address the needs of vulnerable social and ethnic groups).
  • Quality and relevance (modern and innovative organizational and management systems and curricula, development of basic and soft skills and competences, improvement of educational resources and infrastructure).
  • Technology and innovation (uses of technology and innovation to improve education, synthetic approaches of STEM and STEAM education with humanities and social studies, development of digital learning materials).
  • Lifelong learning (providing and enhancing lifelong learning opportunities to continuously develop skills and competences, including those related to sustainability and sustainable development).
  • Cooperation between actors for sustainability (between governments, local authorities, the private sector, civil society organisations and international organisations to support the implementation of the SDGs in education).
  • Monitoring and evaluation of education (use and analysis of data to monitor progress in the implementation of the SDS in education, improve education systems and identify areas for adaptation and improvement).
  • Sustainable development in the school and academic environment (preparing students to address the challenges of climate change, sustainable consumption, and other environmental issues).

Who it is addressed to

The Conference aims to provide an essential opportunity for a meeting between educators, academics, researchers, professionals and active citizens from universities, schools, educational, social, cultural and economic institutions, local governments and civil society organizations from all over Greece, in order to exchange views and ideas, analyze innovative practices and research efforts, educational and learning approaches and tools on issues of Sustainability in Education.


The format of the Conference

The Conference is Hybrid and includes:

  • keynote speeches,
  • main and parallel sessions with oral presentations,
  • thematic symposia,
  • workshops and presentation areas for posters.

The organizers' aim is to ensure as many opportunities as possible for participants to express themselves and interact. It will be accompanied by cultural events and excursions for accompanying participants.


Language of the Conference

The official languages ​​of the Session are Greek and English.

Abstracts can be submitted in either language, and presentations, published communications, symposia and workshops will be held in the same languages ​​as the submission language.


Proceedings

The abstracts accepted will be published in the Book of Abstracts of the Conference.

Papers presented at the Conference will be given the opportunity to be re-evaluated for publication in the Conference Proceedings Book.

All publications of the conference will have the corresponding ISBN.
